Your camera
When you start a posture check, your browser asks for permission to use your camera. The video goes to a pose model that runs inside your browser tab. Each frame is measured in memory and discarded. PostureCheck never records, stores or uploads video, photos or body landmarks, and no person ever sees your camera feed. Stopping the check, closing the tab or pausing turns the camera off.
The pose model, its runtime and the code that runs them are served from posturecheck.app itself. The posture check makes no requests to third parties.
What is stored in your browser
Your settings, your calibrated baseline (five numbers describing your upright posture), today's free-minute counter and up to 30 days of daily totals (minutes tracked, minutes upright, number of alerts) are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your computer. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and a few events such as “posture check started” or “a checkout button was clicked”. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't receive anything from your camera.
Purchases and license keys
Payments are handled by Stripe. We don't see or store card details. When you buy Pro, we store your license key with the checkout session id, the plan and the email address from checkout, which we use to send your receipt and license key. To limit key sharing, each browser that activates a key gets a random id, and we count how many ids a key has been used on. The id identifies nothing about your device.
Notifications
If you turn on desktop notifications in Pro, your browser shows them locally. No push service or server is involved.
